They might not like to regularly admit it, but a study released this week has revealed that many women secretly love cleaning!
Two thousand women were interviewed, with 40% confessing that their dirtiest secret is that they actually enjoy cleaning the house when they have a day to themselves.
Women admitted that cleaning was a great source of stress relief and that they actually felt ‘relieved’ after a good scrub of the skirting boards.
Apart from its therapeutic effects, tidying up also left women with a sense of accomplishment and feeling proud of their pad.
Just when you were thinking there wasn’t any excuse to not get cracking on the chores, there were some jobs the closet clean-ophiles weren’t keen on. Ironing, toilet-cleaning and oven-scrubbing were to be avoided at all costs, but vacuuming and wiping surfaces are considered as genuine fun.
The surveys were, of course, all anonymous, so ladies if you don’t fall in to that shiny 40% I’m afraid we don’t know who you’ve got to blame when your partner says ‘But darling, you secretly love it!’
